《台本の例…一休さん》

【ねらい】
1.日本の昔話に英語表現を取り入れて劇化し、表現活動を楽しむ。
2.英語劇の練習をしたり、『I Have a Dream』を歌ったりして、英語活動の時間を楽しむ。

　笑顔で気楽な雰囲気を作り、挨拶をする。

Good morning, class.
　　Good morning, Mr. 〜.
How are you today?

　　It's April.tenth.
How is the weather today?
　　It's sunny (today).

みなさん、おはようございます。
　　　〜先生、おはようございます。
今日はお元気ですか。
　　　ありがとうございます。元気です。
　　　それであなたはお元気ですか。
ありがとう。元気です。
今日は何月何日ですか。
　　　4月10日です。
今日の天気はどうですか。
　　　晴れです。

　劇の練習をする

・出来るだけ簡単な台詞になるように、お互いの考えを大切にして、台詞作りをする。
・友達と協力して、声の大きさ、表情、動作などを見合いながら練習をする。

≪の例≫

〔台詞の分担と練習の例〕
〈配役：一休さん(a)、将軍(b)〉

(a) "Good morning. My name is Ikkyu. Nice to meet you."
※初対面なので、いろいろな挨拶を取り入れてもよい。
(b) "Nice to meet you, too."
(b) "I have one problem I'd like you to solve."
(b) "We are now in trouble, for this big tiger gets away from the screen and surprises us every night."
※会話が長いので、"This big tiger comes out from the screen every night."でもよい。
(b) "I do hope you'll catch and tie the tiger with a rope when it gets away out of it."
(a) "Do I catch this painted tiger?"
(a) "Well, O.K. I'll do it!"
(a) "Your Honor Lord. Would you give me a strong rope to catch the tiger with?"
※"Your Honor Lord." を "Excuse me." と置き換えてもよい。
(a) "Your Honor. It is very dangerous to stand in front of it."
　 　"Why don't you go behind the screen and drive the tiger out of it?"
(b) "What, what? Do you say I drive the tiger out of the screen?"
(a) "Yes, sir. I ask you so. If you can't drive the tiger out, I can't catch it with a rope."
(b) "Well... I can't do it."

※とんちで有名な一休さんと将軍の会話は、簡単なフレーズをいろいろと使って、二人のやりとりを楽しく表現することが出来ます。

　練習のアドバイスをする。

※出来るだけ簡単な台詞作りが出来るように助言する。
※大きな声で台詞を言うだけでなく、同時に大きな動作表現を行うようにさせる。

　♪『I Have a Dream』を歌う。

・大きな声で楽しく歌う。

　児童と一緒に大きな声で歌う。

・歌詞を少しずつ区切りながら、ゆっくりと大きな声で歌う。

　終わりの挨拶をする。

《A Tiger in Paper Screen》

　Long, long ago, there was a wise Buddhist priest called 'Ikkyu Zenji' in Kyoto.
This is one of his episodes in his childhood.
Hearing of his wisdom, a feudal lord called him to his castle and put him to a test.
"I have one problem I'd like you to solve." said he, taking him in front of 'Tsuitate' (Japanese paper screen used for hiding a room) on which a big tiger was painted.
"We are now in trouble, for this big tiger gets away from the screen and surprises us every night.
I do hope you'll catch and tie the tiger with a rope when it gets away out of it."
"Do I catch this painted tiger?"
Thinking a while, he said to the lord.
"Well, O.K. I'll do it!"
He tied a Japanese towel around his head.
"Your Honor Lord. Would you give me a strong rope to catch the tiger with?"
Having a rope, he stood ready in front of the screen to catch the tiger.
"Your Honor. It is very dangerous to stand in front of it.
Why don't you go behind the screen and drive the tiger out of it?"
"What, what? Do you say I drive the tiger out of the screen?"
"Yes, sir. I ask you so. If you can't drive the tiger out, I can't catch it with a rope."
"Well... I can't do it."
The lord couldn't help approving his quick-witted wisdom.

《一休さん》

むかし、むかし、京都に'一休禅師'という賢いお坊さんがいました。
これは一休さんが子どもの頃のエピソードの一つです。
一休さんの知恵の話を聞いて、将軍が城に一休さんを呼んで、テストをしました。
「わしは一休殿に解決して欲しいことがあるんじゃ。」と、大きな虎が描かれている衝立のところに連れていきながら、将軍は言いました。
「わしらは今困っておるんじゃ。というのはな、この大きな虎が、毎晩この衝立から抜け出してわしらを驚かすんじゃ。そこで、虎が衝立から抜け出したときに、縄で縛って捕まえてほしいんじゃ。」
「この絵の虎を捕まえるのですか。」ちょっと考えながら、一休さんは、将軍に尋ねました。
「はい、分かりました。やりましょう。」そう言うと、一休さんは、鉢巻をしました。
「将軍様、虎を捕まえるための強い縄をください。」
縄を持ったまま、将軍は虎を捕まえるために衝立の前に立ちました。
「将軍様。衝立の前に立つのはとても危険でございます。衝立の後ろへ回って、虎を追い出してください。」
「何っ、わしに虎を追い出せと言うのか。」
「さようでございます。将軍様が虎を追い出せなければ、私は縄で虎を捕まえられません。」
「うーん、わしの負けじゃ。」
将軍は、一休さんのとんちを誉めました。
